1. Welcome & Opening Comments - Pat
Pat opened the meeting at 5:35 with a welcome to all.  Pat mentioned her attendance at the Lanark meeting was by teleconference call due to inclement weather.

2. Program Director -
Report not available.

Pat circulated and discussed the minutes from the November 25 Satellite Committee meeting with the attendance of John Jordan which proved to be very fruitful.

3. Minutes of the November 18 meeting - Pat
No errors or omissions.
Moved by Brian to accept the minutes as recorded, seconded by Randi, carried.

4. Business Arising from Minutes
Pat is completing the AOHC Board Training Survey Summary.  A letter has been sent to AOHC requesting a cost for a workshop for board training

Gail Richardson will conduct a board training and Strategic Planning session on January 17, 2009.  More information will follow as available.  Tentatively, 9AM in the Cobden Civitan Hall, Randi to confirm hall.

Brian felt a copy of the by-laws should be printed out for the Directors.  It was pointed out that the by-laws were available on the web site and an individual could print them from the site.  A package, including the by-laws, could possibly be assembled for incoming directors in the future.

5. Correspondence
A solicitation was received from the Cobden Sun to place a Christmas Greeting in the newspaper at a cost of $70.  After some discussion, it was decided that a donation of $100 would be made to the Cobden Food Bank instead.

Izett moved that $100 be donated to the Cobden Food Bank, seconded by Brian, carried.  Pat will make arrangements with the Cobden Sun and Bonnie Helferty for a suitable time for presentation and photo.

Fundraising Report
Whitewater-Bromley Community Health Centre Satellite
December 9, 2008-12-09


Letters requesting financial support have been sent out to current and former members of the centre.

In January, there will be a fundraiser with travelers giving accounts of recent travel. On February 7 there will be the dance with the ‘retro’ band with cooperation from the Cobden Carnival.

Details will be forwarded as they are confirmed.

A “Mortgage Burning” was discussed, possibly in January.  It was felt that the Civitan Club and the two municipal contributors should be asked to attend such a function.

Policy & Board Affairs - Brian
A date is to be selected on which a Health Service/Business fair would be held.

Membership - Rob
Lynne has assembled a mail out which will be sent to past members.

A member “package” is being planned to encourage people to become new members.

Political Liaison - Izett
Progress on an FHT for Golden Lake/Eganville hinges on approval by the Golden Lake Band members.  A decision may be made by January 12, 2009.

LHIN will shortly be re-examining the lack of a doctor in Eganville and the possibility of a Renfrew County Health Network.


Publicity / Web site - Ron
The web site is up to date.


8. Other Business

Pat will be sitting as a member of the Lanark PPSAC.

Pat and Mary Gilmour, Board Chair of Lanark, had lunch together during which the role of the WBCHC Board was discussed.

Pat will send a Christmas greeting card to the staff of the Beachburg and Cobden sites.

10. Next meeting - Tuesday, January 13, 7PM, Beachburg site.  A speaker may be present.
